Astronomy Club

Astronomy is a branch of Science that studies about celestial objects such as means, stars, nebulae and galaxies. This club plays a pivotal role in developing and promoting scientific temperament in the students’ community with an aim to “strive for scientific temper” and to further aim for “Higher, Stronger and Brighter”.

The astronomy club in our School is one of the most active clubs.

The journey of inculcating scientific culture and temperament among young students has been exciting and promising. The active interest and participation has led our School staying abreast with the latest in Astronomy Education and Technology. This sets us apart as a group of institutions with a futuristic cum holistic approach towards the development of the young minds. The various activities such as telescopic observations, comet making, astrophotography, overnight sky viewing, safe solar observation etc. provide a practical approach to students which develop critical thinking and leadership skills in them.

It is a matter of pride that besides running Astronomy and Space Science club successfully, the school has actively participated in the events, projects and competitions hosted by SPACE at the national and international levels.

ECO Club

Eco Club in our school plays a significant role in creating environmental awareness amongst our young Goenkans. It motivates the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees and also, sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic non-biodegradable materials, conserve water, promote carpooling, adopt eco-friendly ways to celebrate various festivals, adopting the ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle and replenish’ strategy etc. Our school voluntarily organizes various awareness programs such as Quiz, debates, poster making, brochure designing, painting competitions, rallys, nukkad natak, cleanliness drives, special assemblies etc. regarding various environmental issues and to educate students for creating healthy human-friendly environment.

Every year on April 22, Earth Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Slogan writing, Logo designing, Poem recitations by little Goenkans, Poster Making Activity, Go Green – Cleanliness Acts and many other activities are organized to sensitize the students.

Maths Club

“The book of nature is written in the language of Mathematic” –Galileo

To supplement the teaching of Mathematics in the classroom and to widen the knowledge of our young Goenkan a Math Club named RAMANUJAN was initiated.

A plethora of activities like Mental Maths,  brain teasers, conceptual maths, fun maths, intelligent maths, maths skills, mental arithmetic, analytical thinking, creative thinking, logical intelligence, logical thinking activities are conducted . It increases the interest of the students in Mathematics and develops team spirit.

Literary Club

The words we choose to say something are just as important as the decision to speak. Language is the apparel in which our thoughts parade before the public.”

The Literary Club aims to develop self-efficacy, build confidence among students to express themselves freely and inculcate reading, writing and listening habits. An innovative, student friendly pedagogy is adopted to help our little minds develop an inclination towards language. This is achieved by conducting interesting activities in the classroom like debate, declamation, poster designing, creative writing, poem recitation, book reviews, role plays, radio shows, talk show and lot more. All the activities are designed keeping in mind an integrated approach where knowledge, skills and values are combined to integrate the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual aspects.

As it ensures peer group interaction, it is beneficial for the students in their all-round development. It sharpens their critical thinking skills and also builds a flair for self-expression. Teachers motivate students to actively participate in all the activities as it takes them beyond academic framework and connects the classroom to the outside world.

The Literary Club is in fact a platform, an organ of motivational force to many aspiring students who wish to excel in language or take it up as a career later in life. The club is scheduled twice a week in every alternate month throughout the year. We also celebrate Literary Week once during the academic session in which students voluntarily participate in various activities and they are rewarded for the same. It is both instructional and enjoyable as it promotes Experiential Learning among students because they ‘feel’ what they ‘speak’ and ‘think’ as they ‘write’.

MUN Club

Model United Nations has always been one of the most popular activities among students. And what makes it different from the other clubs in the school is the ‘’team spirit’’ that it creates, which brings these students together. The aim of engaging students in an authentic simulation of the United Nations system by learning about the UN system is to hone the skills of debate, compromise, conflict resolution and negotiation. MUN team members have fun learning about the working of world diplomacy through the lens of current events. The members of MUN club participate in Model United Nations Conferences every year.
