Primary Achievers Day

G.D. Goenka held its Achiever’s Day on 25th July 2017 (for grade I, II and III) with great enthusiasm and aplomb. The occasion was graced by members of Managing Committee, Principal ma’am and Parents

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting to seek almighty’s blessing followed by soulful hymn presented by the school choir. It was an event where our young talents, who had excelled in scholastic field and for showing outstanding efforts in co-scholastic sphere, were bestowed with certificates and trophies. Our Inclusive department came up with the names of achievers who were successfully blended with main stream learning. Those students were especially acknowledged for their dedication and determination. Our choir group sang melodiously and dance group grooved gracefully to the beats and rhythm and enthralled the audience.

The Achiever’s Day ceremony was not the end but the beginning of our glitterati affair. Our students and teachers collaborated to put an exhibition ‘PRAYAS…. AN EFFORT’ to unfold the creative layers of a child’s mind through presentations, sketches and homework. The junior wing was transformed into centre of learning where on one side our Little Einstein were impressing the parents with experiments and on the other side showing their mastery in various subjects and skills. It was a funfilled, engaging and enriching experience.

Science Week

G. D. Goenka Public School, Model Town celebrated SCIENCE WEEK from 10th July 2017 to 14th July 2017. The whole motto behind the celebration of the subject was to motivate students and to involve them in knowing about the scientific importance and science principles behind the famous tourist places of earth, all by doing themselves. We all know that the famous places worth visiting around the earth have utmost importance of science behind them apart from the historical importance and stories related. The idea of science week was not just a task or an activity to be performed in school on the name of modern education but it all started with the concept that the year 2017 had been declared by UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY as the year of SUSTAINABLE TOURISM recalling the potential of tourism to advance the universal 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The planning to celebrate this science week was done before the start of summer vacations. Few of the various activities and competitions organized during science week were already discussed with students to work upon during vacations to come up with new ideas. Students of classes (I - XI) were made involved into coordinating and managing things on their own with help of their teachers with regular follow ups.

Astronomy Day - 2018

Space and astronomy is the future of the young generation. The out of the box activities, hands on with telescope provide experiential and pragmatic learning. This is a great means to inculcate scientific temperament among the masses with a quest to explore and evolve the students: comprehend, analyse and take decisions with their independent observations. The Astronomy Club is one of the most active club in the school that makes children learn more about our universe. G.D.
