An assembly is when the school community, or a part of it, meets together to share aspects of life that are of worth. It acts as a medium for communicating matters of significance from one generation to another.
The motive of having an assembly in a school is:
- To develop a feeling of affiliation and unity among students.
- To acquaint students with the school programme more clearly.
- To develop in students a sense of identity with the school.
- To enable students to share their experiences, stories, anecdotes with others.
- To provide them training in good social behaviour desired in public life.
- To motivate students by positive reinforcement in the form of praise or rewards awarded in public
- To facilitate the moral and religious development of students.
- To facilitate national integration and secularism through all-religion prayer meetings among students.
Basant Panchami Celebration Assembly Grade- I, II & III
“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”
G D Goenka Public School, Model Town Primary Wing (Grade-I, II, III) celebrated a very colourful and vibrant week long celebration of Basant Panchami. It is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, education, art, culture, music and wisdom.
Keeping this in mind the students of Primary Wing started the celebration with a beautiful Saraswati Vandana in which they offered prayers invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. The week-long festivities included various activities that highlighted the significance of the festival. Students were engaged in artistic endeavors such as poster making, creative writing and also learned about the importance of festival through Power Point Presentation and modules.
The week-long Basant Panchami celebration not only deepened students’ appreciation for cultural traditions but also provided a vibrant platform for them to showcase their diverse talents. Through active participation in various activities, students enriched their knowledge and created lasting memories, embodying the spirit of the festival.
Republic Day Assembly Grade-6 & 7
Grade 6 and 7 had an exciting opportunity to celebrate Republic Day together, A Special assembly was conducted. The anchors spoke confidently throughout the assembly. The thought of the day was given by Goenkan students in Hindi / Sanskrit and English with an explanation. The news updates were shared next. A speech on Republic day was given by students who spoke in Hindi and English.
The choir students sang a melodious song on Republic Day. Reyansh and Myra recited a beautiful poem on Patriotism. Grade 6 and 7 students sang a beautiful song that ignited the patriotism in everyone present. A role play was enacted by the students to showcase the importance of Republic Day celebration in India. A captivating enactment by Raghav of 7A was performed.
The assembly ended with a republic day dance performed by the Goenkan dance troop of grade 6 and 7.
The national anthem was sung at the end of the assembly.
The assembly was appreciated by everyone.
A Heartfelt Celebration of Republic Day by Class 3E
On January 20, 2025, Class 3E brought the spirit of Republic Day to life in a lively and engaging assembly, attended by all Grade 3 students. The event began with a warm welcome and a prayer for peace, setting the tone for the day.
With voices united in a song of pride, students performed a beautiful Republic Day anthem, filling the auditorium with energy. Presentations shared the significance of the day, the Republic Day Parade, and national awards, as students spoke of freedom, unity, and the dreams that bind us as a nation.
The fun continued with an interactive quiz, where students eagerly answered questions about India’s history and symbols. The assembly closed with a heartfelt poem on patriotism and the strength of unity, leaving everyone inspired. A perfect blend of learning and celebration, the assembly truly captured the essence of Republic Day!
गणतंत्र दिवस प्रतिवेदन कक्षा – दूसरी
अंधकार से प्रकाश, सुखद जीवन की आस,

जी.डी.गोयंका पब्लिक स्कूल, मॉडल टाउन में कक्षा दूसरी के विद्यार्थियों ने 76वें गणतंत्र दिवस सप्ताह को बड़े उत्साह और जोश के साथ मनाया । इस साल का विषय “स्वर्णिम भारत विरासत और विकास” था, जिसके अंतर्गत बच्चों ने देश की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत और आधुनिक प्रगति के महत्व को समझा । सभी गतिविधियाँ पूरी तरह हिंदी में आयोजित की गईं । इनमें प्रश्नोत्तरी, देशभक्ति गीत, ओरिगेमी से कमल का फूल और तिरंगा बनाने जैसी रचनात्मक, शैक्षिक और चित्रकला एकीकृत गतिविधियाँ शामिल थीं । बच्चों को संविधान, लोकतंत्र, स्वतंत्रता, समानता और एकता जैसे शब्दों के अर्थ हिंदी भाषा में समझाए गए, जिससे उनमें राष्ट्रीय गौरव और ज़िम्मेदारी का भाव जागृत हुआ । सप्ताह की सबसे खास बात छात्रों द्वारा हिंदी में प्रस्तुत एक प्रेरणादायक कविता थी, जिसमें उन्होंने अपने शब्दों में भारत के गौरव, शांति, और एकता की भावना को व्यक्त किया ।
कार्यक्रम को हिंदी विभाग ने पूरी तरह हिंदी भाषा में संचालित किया, जिससे बच्चों को न केवल देशभक्ति का महत्व समझने का अवसर मिला, बल्कि अपनी मातृभाषा के प्रति प्रेम और गर्व का भी अनुभव हुआ ।
Republic Day Assembly Grade: I
“Republic Day is a day to celebrate the strength of our nation and the values that unite us all.”
Grade 1 Republic Day Assembly was held on 22.01.25 i.e. Wednesday with enthusiastic participation from students of sections 1-D, 1-F, and 1-G. The assembly began with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by a few lines on the significance of Republic Day. The students then took a pledge to be good citizens and show respect for our country, India. Little Goenkan’s showcased vibrant dances to patriotic songs, filling the atmosphere with joy and national pride. The choir group also sang a melodious patriotic song, adding to the spirit of the occasion. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, uniting everyone in a moment of reverence. The students from other sections cheered and supported their peers throughout the event, making the occasion even more special. The assembly was a beautiful tribute to India followed by a beautiful craft on Republic Day. Glimpses of the celebration were captured and shared below.
Special Assembly Diwali Grade: III
Diwali is a vibrant festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Diwali celebrates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana. People lit oil lamps, or diyas, to welcome him home. To celebrate this joyous occasion, the students of Class III-D and III-F at GD Goenka Public School presented a special assembly on 28 October, 2024. This event aimed to embody the spirit of Diwali through a series of engaging performances.
The assembly commenced with a thoughtful message that captured the essence of Diwali, emphasizing the importance of kindness, love, joy, and positivity. Students showcased traditional dances and songs related to the festival, filling the auditorium with the sounds of joy and celebration.
Overall, the Diwali assembly was a memorable occasion that not only celebrated the cultural heritage of the festival but also reinforced the values among students.
सांस्कृतिकपर्व (प्रतिवेदन)
दशहरा, गांधी, नवरात्रि की बात, तीनों में छिपा है जीवन का साथ । सत्य की ज्योति जो गांधी जी ने जलाई, माँ दुर्गा से शक्ति हर बुराई मिटाई ।। दशहरे का पर्व धर्म का है संदेश, बुराई हारेगी जब सत्य हो सबके पास। तीनों का संगम है प्रेरणा महान, सत्य, अहिंसा और शक्ति का सम्मान ।।
गांधी जयंती, नवरात्रि और दशहरे के पावन अवसर को जी डी गोयंका पब्लिक स्कूल मॉडल टाउन के कक्षा पहली से तीसरी तक के छात्रों ने यह सप्ताह बहुत ही उत्साहपूर्वक मनाया | इन पर्वों को मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्रों में शांति, अहिंसा और भारतीय संस्कृति के महत्व को जागृत करना था।
छात्रों के लिए एक विशेष प्रार्थना सभा का आयोजन किया गया जिसके अंतर्गत महात्मा गांधी के जीवन और उनके द्वारा प्रचारित मूल्यों के साथ-साथ नवरात्रि के सांस्कृतिक और आध्यात्मिक महत्व पर भी प्रकाश डाला गया । इसके बाद छात्रों ने गांधीजी पर एक प्रेरणादायक गीत प्रस्तुत किया, जिसने शांति और सामंजस्य का संदेश दिया। छात्रों ने पारंपरिक गरबा और डांडिया नृत्य का मनोहारी प्रदर्शन भी किया। इसके बाद दशहरे के उपलक्ष्य में एक संक्षिप्त रामलीला का मंचन भी किया गया जिसमें छात्रों ने राम, सीता, लक्ष्मण और रावण जैसे पात्रों की भूमिका निभाई | इस प्रस्तुति ने बुराई पर अच्छाई की विजय के संदेश को प्रभावशाली रूप से प्रस्तुत किया।
इस सप्ताह के दौरान छात्रों को Module, PPT व Quiz के माध्यम से इन पर्वों का ज्ञान देने के साथ-साथ विभिन्न रचनात्मक गतिविधियाँ भी करवाई गईं जिनमें बच्चों ने अपनी कलात्मक प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया।
यह गतिविधियाँ छात्रों में राष्ट्रीय भावना को प्रोत्साहित करने के साथ-साथ सर्वांगीण विकास में भी सहायक सिद्ध हुई और यह सप्ताह बहुत ही हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया गया । इस सप्ताह की कुछ झलकियाँ इस प्रकार हैं –
Special Janmashtami Assembly Grade: II-F & G
“कृष्ण की महिमा है अपरंपार, उनका आशीर्वाद सब पर बना रहे सदैव। जय श्रीकृष्ण!”
On the occasion of Janmashtami, an assembly was organized by the students of classes II-F and II-G with great enthusiasm. The assembly began with an insightful introduction to the topic of Janmashtami, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations.
Following the introduction, the assembly proceeded with a heartfelt prayer, invoking the blessings of the Lord Krishna. After the prayer, a group of students shared significant facts and inspiring lines about Janmashtami and Lord krishna.
The highlight of the assembly was a mesmerizing performance by the students, which captured the essence of Lord Krishna and Radha. The performance was a beautiful blend of dance, music, and drama. Students were also honoured with position certificates for their achievements in the Melody of Azaad Bharat.
The assembly concluded with the lessons and values that Lord Krishna imparted—love, wisdom, and righteousness. His life story inspires us to embrace compassion, uphold justice, and find joy even in the simplest moments.. The event was a powerful reminder of the significance of Janmashtami.
Special Assembly Independence Day Grade-I
“Let your dreams fly as high as our national flag on Independence Day.”
इस वर्ष स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में कक्षा 1 के बच्चों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। सभी बच्चों ने मिलकर भक्ति-भाव से भाग लिया। इसके बाद, स्वतंत्रता के महत्व को बताते हुए कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ हुआ। बच्चों ने देशभक्ति के सामूहिक गीत गाए और तिरंगे के महत्व पर कुछ सुंदर पंक्तियाँ बोलीं। उनके मधुर स्वरों ने सभी का मन मोह लिया। सैनान्नियों की गाथाओं का गायन हुआ, जिसमें बच्चों ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की वीरता और बलिदान की कहानियों को गाया। इसी दौरान, एक छात्रा ने वन्दे मातरम् गीत पर बहुत सुंदर नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया, जिसने समारोह को और भी अधिक आकर्षक बना दिया।
Special Assembly Independence Day Grade: II-B & C
“देश की मिट्टी से सदा जुड़ी रहे हमारी पहचान, स्वतंत्रता का पर्व हो हर दिन, हर रात।“
On the occasion of Independence Day, an assembly was organized by the students of class II-B and II-C with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The assembly began with an insightful introduction to the topic of Independence Day, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations.
Following the introduction, the assembly proceeded with a heartfelt prayer, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the peace and prosperity of the nation. The prayer resonated with the spirit of unity and harmony, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
After the prayer, a group of students shared significant facts and inspiring lines about India’s journey to independence. Their words echoed the struggles and triumphs that led to the country’s freedom, leaving the audience in deep reflection.

Special Assembly Raksha Bandhan Grade – III
Raksha Bandhan is a cherished festival that celebrates the profound bond of love and duty between siblings. Embracing this spirit of familial affection and mutual responsibility, the students of Class III-B and III-C at GD Goenka Public School, Model Town, presented a special assembly in the auditorium on 05 August, 2024 under the guidance of their class teachers. This event aimed to bring to life the essence of Raksha Bandhan through a series of engaging and heartfelt performances.
The assembly started with thoughtful message that captured the spirit of Raksha Bandhan. Students showcased traditional dances and songs related to Rakshabandhan. Their performances highlighted the cultural essence and joy of the festival. A short skit was performed by the set of students which illustrated a traditional Rakshabandhan story.
Overall, the Rakshabandhan assembly was a memorable occasion that highlighted the importance of family bonds and cultural heritage.
Yoga Assembly Grade – III
Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India thousands of years ago. The students of G D Goenka Public School, Model Town Grade III A showcased the benefits of yoga and honor the significance of Independence Day, illustrating how both themes are interwoven in our lives. Today’s assembly aimed at how yoga can enhance our lives and how its principles resonate with the values celebrated on Independence Day. The students shared their views about practicing yoga, we not only foster our own health and peace but also honor the spirit of freedom and unity that Independence Day represents. The students showcased yoga postures such as – Tree pose, Chair pose, Cobra pose, etc. along with the dance performance that highlighted the cultural essence and joy. Overall, the assembly was resounding success and highlighted that by practicing yoga, we not only foster our own health and peace but also honor the spirit of freedom and unity that Independence Day represents.
LIFE BELOW WATER ASSEMBLY REPORT Grade – II A
“The ocean is the last great unexplored frontier on Earth, and it’s an essential part of our planet’s life support system.”
Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water aims to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. This goal addresses the challenges faced by our oceans and strives to ensure their health and sustainability for future generations.
To educate students more about SDG Goal 14, the class II A students presented a captivating assembly themed around “Life Below Water.” The assembly showcased various aspects of marine life through informative presentations and highlighted the importance of ocean conservation. Students explored fascinating facts about underwater creatures and emphasized the need to protect our oceans. The assembly not only educated but also inspired a deeper appreciation for marine ecosystems among the young audience, fostering a commitment to environmental stewardship from an early age.
Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy
Health and hygiene are the fundamental pillars of a happy and vibrant life. For Grade 1 students, understanding that health is wealth is crucial as it sets the foundation for a lifetime of well-being.
On 22nd July’24, students of Class 1A presented an assembly on the theme ‘Health and Hygiene’. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the young Goenkans took the stage to share their message.
The assembly began with a heartfelt prayer, led by the students in sweet and melodious voices. Following the prayer, students took the stage to deliver insightful lines on Health and Hygiene. Their informative presentation emphasized the significance of maintaining good health practices such as eating nutritious food, exercising regularly, reducing screen time, staying hydrated and getting enough sleep.The students with beautiful props eloquently expressed how brushing teeth, bathing, washing hands before and after every meal and trimming nails are not just daily routines but essential steps towards a happy and healthy life.The young learners’ enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone. The assembly served as a gentle yet powerful reminder that indeed, health is the most precious wealth we can possess.
