Senior Student Council 2026-27

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” — Simon Sinek

The Investiture Ceremony of G D Goenka School Model Town, for the academic session 2026–27, held on 4th July 2026, was a momentous occasion that marked the formal induction of the newly elected student council into their positions of leadership and responsibility. Guided by the school’s motto, “Thrive for Life,” the event resonated with an atmosphere of pride, enthusiasm, and anticipation.

As in previous years, the formation of the school’s prefectorial board involved a rigorous and transparent process of interviews, campaigning, voting, and final selection. This comprehensive procedure provided students with valuable insight into the functioning of an official administrative body while fostering qualities of leadership, accountability, and democratic participation.

The solemn ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the esteemed members of the Management Committee, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom. The event was then formally inaugurated by the respected Principal, Ms. Rima Ailawadi, who extended a warm welcome to all present parents of newly appointed student council members and marshals and set an auspicious tone for the proceedings.

In her address, she congratulated the newly elected council members and highlighted the significance of embracing responsibility towards themselves, the school, and their peers. She encouraged them to lead by example, uphold discipline, and serve as role models, inspiring the entire school community through their dedication and commitment.

The ceremony continued with the formal conferment of badges and portfolios, symbolizing the trust placed in our young leaders as they stepped into their roles with pride and responsibility. The newly appointed council members graciously accepted their duties, expressing gratitude for the confidence reposed in them. The oath-taking ceremony was administered by the former Secretary Environment of the academic session 2025–26, as the student council solemnly pledged to serve the school community with dedication, integrity, and sincerity. The newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl expressed heartfelt gratitude and shared their vision and commitment towards fostering a stronger school community.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the former General Secretary, followed by the National Anthem. The event ended on a note of unity and optimism, reaffirming the school’s collective commitment to the values of integrity, respect, and excellence, while looking forward to a promising journey of leadership and growth.
