The workshop titled “Mobile App Development” was organized for the students of Grades 8 and 9 at GD Goenka Public School Model Town. Approx 450 students and 25 teachers attended the workshop. The workshop was conducted in two sessions. Students of grade 8 participated in the first session i.e 9:40 am – 10:50 am. Students of grade 9 joined in second session i.e. 11:20 am – 12:25 pm.
The primary goal of the workshop was to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Mobile App Development using “Thunkable” — a beginner-friendly, drag-and-drop platform that allows users to design and deploy fully functional mobile applications without much coding experience.

An insightful and engaging workshop on “Cyber Safety” was conducted for Grade VII students on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 by a renowned personality “Mr. Gurpreet Singh” He is a Director at YEP Education, a Cyber Crime Intervention Officer, Google Certified Trainer (GCT), Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and Microsoft Office Specialist.
The session, lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, aimed to raise awareness among students about staying safe in the digital world. Mr. Singh provided valuable tips and techniques for Cyber Safety, highlighting the importance of protecting personal data online. He shared an illustrative story about how hackers can misuse digital footprints to circulate images or videos on social media, even if the original post is deleted within minutes.
The main points on which he flashed light were:
- Never share your OTP to anyone.
- Don’t use public Wi-Fi as the connection can access all your accounts.
- Don’t use a friend’s phone for accessing any social media website or email accounts.
- Never use public charging stations, as these can be exploited by hackers to gain unauthorized access to personal devices and accounts, including email accounts, bank details, Aadhaar numbers, and PAN numbers.
- Always use secure websites beginning with “https,” as the “s” signifies security.
- Additionally, he cautioned against clicking on suspicious links or responding to unknown numbers.
The session also introduced students to the official government website, www.cybercrime.gov.in where digital complaints can be filed for appropriate action against cybercriminals.
Overall, the workshop was highly interactive and informative, equipping students with essential knowledge to ensure safety while performing online transactions, playing games, using emails, or accessing social media platforms.
Topic: ‘Bully to Buddy’ ,Venue: Auditorium Date & Day : 07 Aug 2024

The workshop commenced with welcoming of resource person –Ms. Manya Khanna, A UNESCO Expressive Art Based Therapist in Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences, Fortis Healthcare. The session was held on the topic “Bully to Buddy’’ The objective of this session was to aware students about different types of bullying done at different stages of life.
The session was attended by Grades of VI and VII. The discussion was held by the speaker with the students on how bullying affects mental and social well-being of a person. A power point presentation was shown to students in which detailed topic was highlighted, as: how can we deal with various types of bullying, what can we do, what are bystanders, to make anti-bullying squad etc.
The students were quite participative, asked question and shared their experiences. They were able to relate the things of their daily life. This gave students to find a way and approach the people around them i.e. parents and teachers. They understood about teasing, cyber bullying, body shaming, verbal abuse etc. This workshop has enlightened the students to become vigilant about their mental health and should not stigmatized it.
The workshop was concluded with vote of thanks and students addressed for their personal queries, which were resolved emphatically and aesthetically.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WITH REAL LIFE CONNECT

The workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence with Real Life Connect” was organized for the students of Grades 8, 9, and 11 at G D Goenka Public School Model Town. Approx 500 students and 35 teachers attended the workshop.
The workshop was very interactive. Majority of the students were promptly ansering the queries raised by Mr. Kartik from time to time. He discussed about –
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- Definition and AI technologies: Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Robotics, and Natural Language Processing.
- Discussion on the importance and impact of AI in various industries.
- Real-Life Applications of AI
- Presentation on AI in everyday life: Virtual Assistants (e.g., Siri, Alexa), Recommendation Systems (e.g., Netflix, Amazon), and AI in Healthcare (e.g., diagnosis tools).
- Case studies of AI in business, education, and entertainment.
Hands-on demonstration of AI tools and apps that students can use.
CYBER SECURITY

Speaker: Mr. Rakshit Tandon
Mr. Rakshit Tandon emphasized the importance of having an updated Cyber Council to ensure effective implementation of cyber security practices within educational institutions. The Cyber Council should oversee and guide cyber security initiatives, educate students, and act as a point of contact for any cyber security concerns.
The speaker highlighted the rapid increase in cybercrimes, which have become a global pandemic, affecting individuals and organizations alike. Emphasis was placed on the rising sophistication of cyber-attacks and their potential impact on personal data, financial security, and institutional integrity.
- Mobile Hijacking: Rakshit Tandon discussed the increased ease of mobile hijacking in the post-COVID era. This is largely due to increased mobile usage and less stringent security measures.
- AI in Hacking: Artificial Intelligence tools are being leveraged by cybercriminals to enhance their hacking capabilities, making attacks more effective and harder to detect.
Types of Threats
- Malware: Malicious software designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to computer systems.
- Spyware: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
- APK Files: Risks associated with downloading and installing APK files from unverified sources.
- Call Forwarding Malware: A type of malware that redirects calls to unauthorized numbers, potentially leading to financial loss and privacy breaches.
Action Items:
- Strengthen the role and activities of the Cyber Council.
- Increase awareness and education about cyber threats and preventive measures among students.
- Regularly update and implement security protocols to address emerging cyber threats.
Conclusion
Mr. Rakshit Tandon’s session aimed to enhance awareness among cyber ambassadors about the evolving landscape of cyber threats and the importance of maintaining robust cyber hygiene. The update on the Cyber Council and the discussion on various cyber threats were critical in reinforcing the need for proactive measures in cyber security.
