Senior Student Council 2024-25

Leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others. – John Maxwell

The investiture ceremony of G D Goenka Public School Model Town of the academic session 2024-25, held on May 10, 2024, was a momentous occasion, marking the formal installation of our newly elected council members into their roles of leadership and responsibility. Guided by our school’s motto, “Higher, Stronger, and Brighter,” the event exuded an atmosphere of enthusiasm and anticipation.

As with previous years, the formation of the school prefectorial board this year involved thorough interviewing, campaigning, voting and selection, providing students with insight into the workings of an official administrative body. The solemn event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The school Principal, Dr. Rima Ailawadi, commenced the event on an auspicious note and extended a warm welcome to all attendees. She expressed appreciation and congratulations to the students, emphasizing the importance of responsibility towards themselves, the school, and their peers. Ma’am urged them to serve as role models and to earnestly uphold discipline within the school community.

Next, we proceeded to honour and empower our conscientious and youthful recipients by entrusting them with their positions, duties, and responsibilities. Gratefully acknowledging the school for entrusting them with such important roles, the students embraced their new responsibilities with confidence. The former head boy and head girl of the academic session 2023-24 officiated the administration of the oath. The members of the student council solemnly took an oath to diligently serve the school community. It was truly a moment of immense pride for the teachers of these accomplished individuals, who were acknowledged for their commendable leadership and exceptional contributions to the school. The newly elected head boy and head girl delivered speeches expressing gratitude to the school, teachers, and students. They shared their commitment, goals, and insights aimed at enhancing the school community.

The proceedings drew to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by the former secretaries of cultural affairs followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. The ceremony concluded with a sense of optimism and unity, as the entire school community came together to reaffirm its commitment to the values of integrity, respect, and excellence. With a shared vision for the future, we look forward to embarking on this journey of leadership and growth together.
